Washoe county will go with the P-25 Phase 2. in the next 5 to 7 years this will be a long-term roll out of a new P-25 Phase 2 communications system.

I wonder how this will affect the state piggyback of the county system. State radios have to be compatible with both the county and other locations in the state. Is this a non-issue because new radios can do both?

the state has a lot of the p7100ip, that are p25 and will work the 2 systems

Not an issue. New radios are all P25 and all the P700s have been replaced with at least P7100ip's including mobiles. NV Energy still has a few legacy radios, but that won't be an issue either.

I don't think p7100s will do phase 2 though. The OP said phase 2.

the phase 2 will not be for a long time. and when the p25 rolls out they will need to buy Harris unity xg100 for any one that needs phase 2.
