yound fire buff needs help with minitor3

hi guys. my mom and dad just bought me a minitor3 off ebay. its a 2 channel. is there a way to find out the frequencies and tones for where i live? can i put 2 departments on each channel or just one? i live in lisle and want that one one and mabey downers grove on another?

thanks cubn. but it has 4 spots. a,b,c,d. i dont understand what to put in each one. could u help? say i just used to lisle ones where i live?

I believe your in Dupage Co, if so Dupage Co is testing on Starcom and will be moving "most " of there FD's to Starcom in the near future,.....

On my Minitor 4 and Minitor 5, they were just single frequency, but it monitors for 2 different tones, on A is for my Alert Tones, B is Open squelch so as I hear all traffic not just the traffic after a tone dispatch, C in my Min 4 was a vibrate mode in Toned Mode, and D was Open Squelch with vibrate on tone. I don't know about C, D on my 5. You will need to find someone to look at the pager who can program to see if they will even be able to use the pager. Not to mention it sounds as though that county is going Starcom and that pager won't work, in 2012 that pager would be obsolete anyways with narrowbanding.
