I am unaware of any youth correctional facility near 65th St. And 65th and PI parallel each other, they don't intersect.

Are you thinking of Juvenile Hall? That's off Keifer at Branch Center. The Boys Ranch is on Scott Rd. between Latrobe and White Rock.

CYA does not operate any detention facilities in Sac County AFAIK. Nearest is Stockton area.

Oops. Forgot about NAC on Florin-Perkins.

SSD - What traffic are you hearing that you're trying to figure out? What TG ID are you seeing? What direction are you looking to see the building you're asking about?

Not to confuse the matter but is this the facility in question (Closed in 2004)?
Looks like those misguided youth either went to a Big Peoples Sitdown somewhere else or to Sunny Southern California....

'Northern Youth Correctional Reception Center- Clinic

The State's California Youth Authority (CYA) operates the Northern Youth Correctional Reception Center Clinic (NYCRCC). The Sacramento County Grand Jury visited NYCRCC on two separate occasions, February 11, 1998 and March 31, 1998.

Background:
Youths between 12 and 24 years old, who have been committed to the CYA by the Juvenile or Criminal Courts, are screened and tested at one of the youth correctional reception centers within the State. After evaluation, youths are then assigned to another state facility for treatment, training, and education. NYCRCC is Northern California's youth reception center.

NYCRCC is located on a 23-acre site, near Folsom Boulevard off Power Inn Road. Within three days of arriving at this facility, all wards receive medical and dental checkups. The primary function of this facility is to process new commitments, re-commitments, and parole violators. Female offenders are received, screened and transferred to the Ventura Youth Correctional Facility, located in Southern California................'

I know they use Probation channels on the SRRCS
They very well could use a simplex channel for inside the facility.

They do have simplex freqs, but I think the hall has a TG on the system.

SSD - FYI, there is NO WAY you could see the Hall (WETYC) from Folsom and PI. Heck, you can't even see it from Bradshaw/Folsom, and that's about 5? miles closer. It's just not that big of a building.

Almost guaranteed it's the Family Courthouse or the DCSS (Child Support Services) buildings on the east side of PI south of the tracks. They're right next to the Granite Regional Park. And neither of those has special freqs that I'm aware of. They do have SSD Security, so they're probably on SD SC2 on the system.

Just to clarify, WETYC and JH are two seperate distinct facilities. I think what RolnCde3 meant was you can't see either one from Folsom and PI. Even with the current JH expansion/construction of a second story, it would be impossible to see it.

WETYC is the courthouse then, right? And the Hall is right next door.

It appears some of you guys are getting confused around the Probation/Juvenile Court area at Kiefer Blvd and Branch Center Road.

First and foremost, JH is a large complex. The LE sallyport enterance and the public enterance/lobby area can be accessed on Kiefer Blvd. The enterance is directly across the street from the US Post Office.

Juvenile Court building is the large 3 story glass/steel structure on the corner of Kiefer and Branch Center (directly across the street from Rosemont High School).

WETYC is also located on Branch Center Road but you have to drive down a little bit. WETYC is the modern looking building directly across the street from the County l maintaince yard.

Currently, the whole area is kinda a mess due to many construction projects going on. However, when all the construction is done, it will look very nice and be very functional.

I hope this helps.
