Okay. That sounds like a good idea. How do I do that? I don't know anything about programming. How can i get it to reconnect on the correct channel after a VPN, general network reset or system reboot? When it logs back into the server, it doesn't come up in vox mode on the correct channel. Also, being blind and using screen readers makes it tricky.

Zello - Manual

This IS perplexing. I have had the exact same issue. I've used 5 different scanners and seven different computers....and I finally found a combination that has worked and worked well. It has been running unattended for a year and a half (save for one power outage we had, but I got it going again easily). But...only for one setup.

I find two issues with Zello....the one you mentioned above, and the other is I will get a Beep-Beep-Beep from the feed computer. I can't find a lot of documentation on it and it will do it incessantly until it goes manual. If changed levels trying to get it right until my fingers bleed I really like Zello, especially for the data management (little data use during quiet times) and I can pick & choose my feeds at will from my Blackberry or IPhone....and the transmissions can be recorded.

Sorry that I am not offering any real help here....but my computer is an older Dell 1525. I'm guessing it is something to do with the computer hardware. A friend of mine is moving away from computer use towards her iPhone 6, so I've asked her to give me her Dell 1520....it may be telling when I try Zello with it.

Hello all. I need some help please. I am using zello to stream my local police dispatch as well as running it on RR. The RR feed works well, but zello running in vox mode runs well for a wile, but then the zello app goes into manual mode. Sometimes it runs in vox mode for a day and other times it runs for a week or so before going manual. can anyone tell me why this might be happening and how i can keep the vox mode active please? I am trying to keep it running unattended. It's a pain having to manually put vox back on all the time.

Honestly, to everyone having issues with VOX, I can't say I ever really had any issues... And therefore I'm not really sure how to help. The only thing I can think of is maybe the PTT rapidly keys up/hangs up and it gets too crazy and the VOX just disables for some reason?

Like I said...

I'm just taking a shot in the dark at guessing what the problem is. I've never had any issues of that sort. The only issues I've had were things like audio quality, but those can be fixed with some fine tuning.

Thank you all for your comments. I had a network outage over the weekend. Both the zello feed and the RR feed went down for about 5 hours. Then they both came back online without me having to do anything. I did have to reconnect my VPN though. It hasen't happened since. I think there may have been issues with the VPN server and my provider has fixed them during the outage.Time will tell, but I think the vox issue may have been caused by an unstable VPN. It'll be interesting to see what happens from here.
