UniTrunker and me=clueless
Hi. I used to run unitrunker on a previous computer.
I figured that I would give it a go again and use it to try to follow my local EDACS system and a pure P25 system.
Problem is I cannot figure out how to get a signal after I download it.
I do have my tapped Pro2045 connected to a mic port and get a 100% signal running Trunk 88 right now. What will I be doing wrong?

Have you installed the USB cable drivers?

If you've got Trunk88 working, then just make sure it is shut off and immediately go and do this:
- Fire up UT
- click on the Receivers tab
- click on the + sign to add a new receiver
Type: Signal
Audio Port: <select the audio input that you are using>
Sample Rate: 48000 (your mileage may vary)
Sample Size: 16 (again, YMMV)
Channel: Mono (assuming a mono source fed via a mono cable)
Down below, in the "Decode" section, make sure you have all the options selected for decoding
Once finished with that, in that new Receiver that you created, in the Run field set it to Running.
You should then be able to click on the "Scope" tab of the receiver and see some activity. If you do, then you're on your way.
Remember, for EDACS systems you must create a system and then manually add the frequencies for that system (and make sure you set the Confirmed and Control Channel selections on the channels that are known to be control channels. Otherwise, when you fire up UT, it won't know to put new information into that new system - instead it'll start creating a bunch of unwanted systems.

You should also beware that the RR download feature in the version you have no longer works. The RR supported mechanism for downloading data has changed. Look for an update soon.

Hmm. Now that I mention it I am having a few problems:
I am having problems putting in the control channels and any other channels. Each and every time I attempt to do so My computer sends me an error message and needs to close.
I am also trying to monitor a P25 Standard system:
Scanner Frequencies: Government of Ontario (GO) Transit Trunking System, Golden Horseshoe Area, Ontario
I am unable to recieve any value for what is labelled Health.
On the Halton EDACS system Site 3
Scanner Frequencies: Halton Region Trunking System, Halton Region, Ontario
I get a good signal decoding.
On our provincial Fleetnet system Scanner Frequencies: Bell Fleetnet - Ontario Provincial Government Zone 1 Trunking System, Southwest Zone, Ontario
I get a great read on Health, over 90%.
Do I continue to do something wrong Mike?

I really can't answer whether you continue to do something wrong or if it's just some bad luck you're having.
I use a PSR-500 with its build in decoding of those systems. Been a long time since I used a discriminator tap to do what you are doing.
But I do know that it was pretty simple for me to do with UT the last time I did do it (about six months ago) - I wasn't trying to monitor 9600 baud systems though. I had no problem with EDACS.
I'm unsure what would be causing your UT to crash.
Perhaps you should download the latest version of UT again and install it in a pristine folder with nothing else in it, and run that copy from that folder and set up the Receiver and see if you encounter the same problem.

Ejb ... At what point does it crash? Where are you filling in the frequency?

Exactly, as I try to fill in the frequencies to set up a EDACS system it crashes and tells me there is an error do you want to send this error notice
