Default Unitrunker 1.0.0.9 and Windows 7

I'm having some difficulty getting Unitrunker to play nice under Windows 7 and I'm not sure what is holding me up. I had this exact same setup working under Vista and again under XP on the same machine, so I'm a bit baffled.

I have a discriminator tap in my Pro-97, connected to the right channel of my integrated SB Live Line-In (SB Live! 24-bit). Receiver is set to type Signal, with the audio port selected as 'SB Live! 24-bit', sample rate 44100, sample size 16, channel right. When I set run to 'Running' I see nothing on the scope, yet when I use another application like Audacity to monitor the Line-In I get the sounds of the control channel I'm trying to monitor on the right channel just like I expected.

I even tried Unitrunker 1.0.0.8, which is the version I had running under Vista and XP, to no avail.

Line-In is set as the default recording device, and I have adjusted the level on the Levels tab for the Line-In Properties.

Has anybody had any luck getting this working with 7 yet?

Try mono instead of stereo.

Mono doesn't work either.

This seems like either some dumb setting in the operating system that I missed, or some silly incompatibility. I've been through the sound properties more times than I can count, and I've been up and down through the compatibility troubleshooter. I even went so far as to download the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit and spent quite a bit of time in the Compatibility Administrator looking for things to try.

I just don't get it. If I can capture it with a program like Audacity, why not something like this?

Since you've selected the line input as the Windows default sound input - set your receiver to decode from the default input instead of the specific input. With a device named "SB Live! 24 bit" it is not easy to tell which input you're actually selecting. The SB Live! subsystem likely has at least two inputs - a line and microphone. What other devices appear in the drop-down list of audio input devices?

I have Microsoft Sound Mapper, Line-In (SB Live! 24-bit), Microphone (SB Live! 24-bit), and S/PDIF In (SB Live! 24-bit). Out of desperation - defying all logic - I've tried them all. I've tried all the available sample rates and sample sizes, but it seems to lead me nowhere.

It seems so strange because I know I can point Audacity at the Line-In on the SB Live, hit the record button and the result is a recording of the control channel that my scanner is tuned to on the right channel. I can't help but think there is something silly that Windows 7 is doing that is preventing Unitrunker from seeing the output from the audio device.

I just woke up, so my brain is a little fuzzy..... I was having a heck of time getting it to work with XP, and the answer was some hard to find little thing under the advanced properties that was something like Digital Input/Output Only.... There was a check box, and it was checked. Unchecking it made it work. Not sure if 7 has something like that, but maybe..... ?
