A keyboard is mandatory. Otherwise, I can't think of a reason not.

It will run fine under the FULL version of windows 8. I run it on an x64 platform attached to a PSR500 and it works great. It will NOT run under the RT version commonly found on devices like the slate and some of the convertable 'laptops'
