Question Trunking Problem

I've been monitoring a Motorola Type II system that has no info on RR . Anytime theres activity on it I write down the tgid's. Most of the tgid's are Type II but theres a couple of them that seem to change.
For example 720 will be the dispatcher and then 704 will be the other end of the conversation,
6272 dispatcher 6288 other person. Heres a construction type operation 40000 Dispatcher
and 40016 Other Conversation. Everything else seem to work right other then these few odd tgid's. Any ideas?

Check out this link in the WIKI. They are most likely status bits

Post Status Bits

I tried the status bits. It changed the tgid's from 704, 720 to 713 to 721. I read the article but still confused on status bits. I always leave them on ignore because they are so confusing. It take some getting use to.
Do you think this might be a Type I talkgroup? I would think fleet maps would be a whole lot easier then these status bit things. But then it would change the system to a Type IIi Hybrid wouldn't it?

It has nothing to do with status bits. You're monitoring Type I talkgroups, which don't use status bits.

Have you thought about running a trunking program to see and help record data? I started using unitrunker within the last year and love it. You will need a scanner with a discriminator tap and a sound card input on your computer.

Default Discriminator Tap

Maybe later on I might try it. I read the instructions on how to do it on the bcd396t but right now its brand new and looks good with no holes drilled in and wires sticking out.

Try different flleet emaps and see if it follows the talk better. I still have a motorola1 system in my area and played around with fleetmaps for a long time before hitting the jackpot!! Luckily, there are not too many system ones out threre!!!!!!!!!
