Receiving I Calls in RS, Uniden and GRE scanners
I must admit I'm not too clear on this subject - I know that with the Uniden DMA scanners, you need to check the I Call box in the trunk system to enable this function, but I'm none too clear about the 70000 wild card.
Do the GRE scanners work the same way? And I read somewhere - I am probably off base here - that the RS scanners cannot handle I Calls?
I would like to get this information to our wiki, since it is a topic that comes up from time to time - we have the beginnings of an article on I Calls here...

73 and thanx...Mike

GRE made scanners do not have I-call capabilities.
Unlesss something has changed, that's how it is.

PSR5/600 sets I-Call as Private Wildcard in the menu. RS equivalent will likely do the same.
Could be PSR3/400 and RS equivalent may do the same.

Correct, the PSR-300/400 and Pro-163/164 do not receive I-Calls (Private Calls)

The "7000" wild card is for use on the Motorola system and "00000" is for the Edacs system.

I assume that would also be true for the 296 and 796, since their protocols are so similar? 73 Mike
