Default Radio Security Issues(Encryption Costs?)

My security company uses All Points radio trunked radios. Our concern there are millions of dollars of at stake when it comes to radio security and I was wondering:
A. Is it possible to have encryption placed on our talk group.
B. If (A) is possible how expensive are we looking.
Here is the Radio System my company uses->http://www.radioreference.com/module...me=RR&sid=3577

Considering the age of the system you can't really employ "encryption." You would have to go with some form of rolling code inversion. It needs to be something that falls within the normal voice spectrum. SelecTone would be an example. Motorola trunked systems aren't the easiest systems to add encryption to as the infrastructure needs to support it.

As wayne_h said it depends on whether All Points Communications Motorola Type I Trunking System Infrastructure supports it. You would have to consult with them first before purchasing and installing anything within the portable/mobile units you have.

EDIT: As an after thought - If you own the portable/mobile radio equipment and have a simplex channel(Direct, Talk Around or what ever you like to call it) its possible it may work on that but anything that goes through the trunk system will have to have the approval and support of the system operator/admin.
