Default Kenwood tk 930 radio ?

I have an old model Kenwood TK 930 800 mhz freq mobile radio, and was curious if this radio is any good for scanning any of the newer frequencies or not...not sure if the system is compatible or not...??

The TK-930 was used for LTR trunking. The chances of public safety using LTR is almost nil. I believe the radios can be programmed for several conventional channels, but if you need to follow motorola trunked talkgroup conversations, or the newer P25 standard, then you will need to purchase a scanner.
