Default BCD536HP First Firmware Update v1.03.03 Available

This release addresses the issues that were reported to us within the first week of release. I know that a few more were found after that, and we are working on a March release to address additional issues.

Release notes are at: http://info.uniden.com/twiki/bin/view/UnidenMan4/BCD536HP

Use Sentinel to apply the update.

UPMan and Uniden,

Thank you and your Engineering/Software/Firmware team for all the effort and work on this first release.

I understand there will likely be more bugs, but when playing Whack A Mole, the more Moles that stay down, the easier it is to get your hands around issues.

Will install and enjoy the changes, keep up the good work.

Thank you.

This is actually good as I will test a Phase 2 system all day tomorrow and then get to go back again after the release and be able to compare if anything did better/ worse.

I have been running the new firmware for about an hour, so far no squelch tails on analog or digital systems.

The TWIKI says, among other things, "Fixed an issue where the USB serial mode would stop working in some conditions."

I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but in the past hour or so of scanning while in "Serial Port", I've not seen the dreaded change from "Serial Port" to "Mass Storage". Still keeping my fingers crossed.

Can I just wait for the next firmware update or do I have to do this one first?

Excellent question. Are these firmware updates "cumulative"?

Yes. But there is no reason to not install this firmware update.
