I'm looking to purchase a HomePatrol 1 Scanner and wondering if it will receive all the following;

Dinwiddie County, VA Sheriff's Department, Fire & EMS (all VHF digital)
VA State Police 1st Division (VHF digital trunked)
Prince George County, VA Police, Fire & EMS (UHF analog)
Petersburg, VA Police, Fire & EMS (800 or maybe 900 digital trunked)
Chesterfield, VA Police, Fire & EMS (800 or maybe 900 digital trunked)

I'm thinking I'll have to install an external antenna but my main concern is if it will automatically find those frequencies/talk groups and save them?

Thanks!!!

As long as none of those digital trunked systems are phase 2 you should be good.

The only other issue is if they are scan able by a scanner. Check the RR database and you should be able to answer your question.

The hp-1 is capable of scanning anything that can be scanned other than phase 2.

Sounds good. I don't think any are Phase 2 except maybe Chesterfield.

Thank you for the quick response!

Chesterfield (and the rest of the Capital Regional system they're on) is still Phase I.

Chesterfield and VSP were actually the two I thought might have gone Phase2 if anyone had.
