Default Ack - Uniden Programming software

Ok, so I am very familiar with Don's WIN software and have even worked ok with Scan Cat. But this Uniden software is making me frustrated. Sure it's easy to program freqs and set to trunking mode etc etc etc but when writing the info back to the scanner it isn't trunking. I reviewed the files and sure as polar bears are white there is no designation for trunking.

I manually programmed in EDACS for Washoe County here in Nevada and it works like a champ. I uploaded from the scanner to the software to see the designations then imported the file into Excel (very nice feature by the way) and made the changes to two locations to "force" trunking mode. Now I can write out trunking mode.

Now sure I finally got it working but there must be a better/easier way to do this. Unfortunately the Uniden software doesn't allow me to set trunking or not "per frequency" in their program which seems like I must be doing something wrong cause isn't the purpose of the database software to make programming easier?

So what am I doing wrong?

Also since I will be carrying all Uniden scanners is there a better piece of software so I can program the scanners easily and more effectively from one database? Yes I can work very effectivly in Excel so I quess that's an option.

The scanners we are carrying are the BCT8, BC898T & the BC 246T. We will carry a single copy of the digital models as we are *fortunately* still in a non-digital area.

I like reality radio over reality TV shows. I am not a scannerhead, I just like to listen.

In system editor on the lower left click on TRUNK Option. A window pops up to enter system frequencies and LCN's if needed. If you don't see TRUNK Option, resize the window until it shows up.

I was thinking of the software for the BC246. It looks like your screenshot is for a different radio.

That's the kicker - he didn't SAY which SW he was using. It's a little hard to guess which model let alone which software.

That would appear to be the BCT8SS. All looks right, just make sure that your LCN's are correct and each channel has "on" in the trunk collumn. This software is ok, having not used Butel or any others I cant say it is better than those other offerings.
