BCT15, Remote head and GPS

Ok, i just bought a BCT15 scanner and loved it. I just ordered the Remote head and the GPS for it. While I was reading the manual online for the remote head I saw that the cable that runs from the remote head to the scanner it uses the serial port, thats the same one the GPS receiver will use. Is this right? How am I going to plug my remote head and my GPS to my scanner? Has anyone ran into this problem?

The remote head plugs into the front of the scanner (by default...and cable configuration). The GPS plugs into the rear port on the scanner. I have been running both like this for well over a year, now.
