First questions to ask - where are you, and what system(s) are you trying to program? City, county and state will do. Lots of areas are moving to digital, which the BCT8 cannot handle.
Our database is the place to start for this. Just go up to the top blue toolbar and click on the link 73 Mike

Let's start with the easy stuff - here's the database entry for the Macon county 800mhz trunk...
(anything in blue and/or underlined is a link)
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=588
I'd step through these freqs, one at a time, and see if you have all of them as listed. If you do, one of them will have a horribly raucous sounding signal on it. That's the control channel for the trunk. NEVER lock a frequency that has this noise out.
If you don't hear it, I'd first suspect an antenna issue. If it's not the antenna, I'd jump to the Illinois forum and see what may have happened to the trunk. The database entry is dated Feb., but it's possible something has changed.

First there are no codes there are frequencies and talkgroup IDs. If you have the frequencies n can you hear the control channel when you manually go through the frequencies. It will be one frequency making noise.

sorry, n2mdk I meant to say frequencies and talkgroup IDs. I am new at this. I have all of the frequencies and talkgroups IDs enter but the ID's are not coming in. I was looking to see if I had enter them wrong. I don't have the manual to this TruckTracker.

Well if all you need is the owners manual, download it from the Uniden website - here's the URL...
http://www.uniden.com/pdf/BCT8om.pdf
And to get started understanding trunktracking (not trucktracking - I get a good laugh every time I hear that...) I would read the overview section of the following (remember anything underlined and/or in blue is a link - that's true in the wiki, too....)
