Default BR330T having problems selecting systems to scan

I have a BR330t scanner, and having issues selecting systems to scan. I can't seem to get it to stop scanning every system without locking them all out. I thought there was system hotkeys you can assign the systems to, and then press 'scan' and then type in the hotkey of the systems to scan with the assigned hotkeys only...

But when I do that, it recognizes the systems i selected to scan because the hotkey number blinks as it finds an assigned system I am looking to scan. But what it also does is still scan all the other systems as well, with nothing blinking in the interface in the system selection list.

I followed the manual to a T, I don't understand what I could be doing wrong.

Thanks for any help

Sounds like you have all (or most) of the System Quick Keys (SQKs) enabled. You need to disable all but the few you want to hear by pressing the unwanted SQKs to turn them off. Each selection is a toggle (from enabled to disabled or vice versa).

Pressing a single SQK only enables or disables the systems assigned to that SQK. It doesn't disable all the others.

OK I think I understand. But how do i turn off SQKs individually..

Right now on the screen it shows:

S0:12---------
GRP----------

I am getting systems scanning right now that are not in the SQK 1 or 2, the 1 and 2 both does not blink when I recieve a transmission..

But, when it does happen to scan a system assigned SQK 1 or 2, the 1 or 2 then starts to blink.

Sounds like you also have systems that have no SQKs assigned. I'd start by assigning those an SQK so you can see (and change) their status more easily.

As it is, you can disable SQK 1 or 2 (by pressing 1 or 2 while scanning). If you do that, you'll see the number change to an *.

Sweet. I think i understand! I changed the 1 and 2 to **, and now those systems will not scan!! I think i can figure out the rest from there.

I'm so glad I asked, and thankful for your answer. Saved me many hours of hair pulling (oh wait I have none - lol)

Thanks very much
