Default Resetting a BCD396t

Hi All,

After my firmware and software updates on my BCD396T I'm getting a lot of scanning in areas that I do not want. I'll set up one basic conventional system and in between it scans the Bandscope, all Custom freqs, Ham, CB, etc...

Is there a full system reset I can do to just start over? Tring to fix the problem is really a pain and I don't know where to start so I'm just playing. I hope I have better things to do than this, not sure but I hope so!

Thanks & 73,
Mike - KA2FBL

Default Reset Uniden Scanner

To reset the scanner --

1.) Turn off the scanner

2.) While holding down the "2" , "9" , and "HOLD" buttons (all at the same time), turn on the scanner. In about 3 seconds, a message should appear about ALL Memory Clear.

3.) It will then ask you if you want to restore Preprogram List. (That is what the scanner came from the factory programmed to scan). Press "E" key to restore or "." key to not restore.

Don't reset if you don't need to. All you want to do is turn off the service search bands.
To lock out or unlock a system, (even with its quick key enabled) or custom/service search:
In scan mode press Hold to hold on any channel.
Press and hold Func then press 7/Rcl.
At 'Select System' scroll to the system/search you want to lock or unlock.
Press and hold Func then L/O to lock or unlock the system/search.
Press Scan to exit. http://marksscanners.com/396/396.shtml#LO system
Hope this helps.

Thanks to both of you. I did the full reset without any built in freqs. I just put in what I needed. It's portable, but never leaves my desk. The amt of things I use it for are very limited so why fill it up.

Mike
