If you re-read my first post. Everything was working fine, then just stopped. If it was just the control channel, it would not have worked to start with.
I got the new USB cable in, No luck, still wont work.
I can not pick up anything on it, even if I put them in manually.
I gave up. I have sent it in to Uniden for repairs.

... not exactly. If the control channel switched to a frequnecy that you do not have programmed, you will have the problem that you are describing now. I hope the everything goes well since you've sent it in.

UPDATE:
Received my radio back from Uniden.
Uniden repair person stated there was nothing wrong with it. BUT, now get this, it is working 100%!
I NOW can connect to my PC using FreeScan. I was able to upload my saved freescan file and am now enjoying the scanner and hearing my county as I was before. I did nothing new. Connected to radio just as I did before sending it in for repair. It seems to me SOMETHING must have been repaired. Why would they state other wise?

It just quit working AGAIN! SOB!
This is nutz! I did nothing. The radio just stopped receiving yesterday. I waited until tonight to try and upload my saved file, and it wont connect either. Same problems as before. I doubled check, com port and speed correct on both radio and software.
UPMAN, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

UPMAN has been out of the country for about a week. Not sure when he's due back.

Hang in their Jim, it's covered under warranty. If Uniden can't fix it, they'll replace it. Paul (UpMan) provides excellent customer service when handling situations such as yours. It will be worth the wait, after it's resolved.

I just looked up your Site's information in the database and see that their is 3 additional frequencies assigned to the site. If you haven't done so already, program them into the system and see if that does the trick. I wouldn't suspect anything is wrong with the scanner, it looks like you're either missing another control channel, or the signal strength is too weak to pick it up. If none of this works, and once again if you haven't done so already, check the Michigan forum for rebanding information. Everyone seems to have some good answers/solutions for you, so i'm throwing my 2 cents at you.

I understand your trying to help, but this is not the problem.
It stopped before, and after returning from Uniden, it was working again, same freq's, nothing changed.
It was working fine, then as before, stopped. Won't connect to computer, nothing. Same exact symptoms as previous. Freq changes wouldnt cause the USB cable from responding to the computer, there has to be an underlying electronics problem. And the signal strenth hasnt changed.

I know, just frustrated is all. Not to mention the $15 it cost me each time I have to send it back in.

Jim:
Are you scanning in "ID SCAN" mode, or "ID SEARCH" mode?
