Question BC346XT User Opinions...

Iv'e had my BC346XT for a little over a month now, and had great results so far. I only scan conventional frequencies, as we dont have trunking or digital in my area,,But i live out in the country with mountains around me, and recieve has been very good on just the stock antenna..i usually scan 150-162 mhz and 450-464 mhz ares, and some 46 mhz..I notice FM radio broadcast is great also,,So far this scanner has outperformed my BR330T handheld by a fair margin which is a favorite scanner of mine,,also it recieves more frequencies than my PSR-300 which works very well here for me, all scanners i just use the included stock duck antenna. Average range im getting most all the time is 50-60 mile radious with most transmissions quite clear..and using duracell pre-charged 2000mah ni-mh rechargeables im gettin 13 hours continuious run time using the squelch auto backlight. Sensitivity and selectivity are both very good on this scanner , and the audio quality is very good too, even better than the 330 in my opinion....I think uniden did an excellent job on this radio, many great features and priced right......Would like to know how well others are doing with their BC346XT ?........Thank's,

With the exception of no P25 decoding, less memory, and a one color display, I think it's as good as the BCD396XT.

I just got my new BC346XT and this thing is hot hot hot! I ordered an diamond 77ca same day I ordered the 346XT.

One thing I have a problem with, I can have a full 5 signal bars, and it will cut out a few words. Its very odd & annoying, voice quality is great but it just cuts outs. hopefully the 77CA will help with that

just got mine today..I am sure I will be spending quiet winter evenings this year, figuring out how to program it and getting software and figuring it all out. Quite a difference from my old programable bearcat days.

If you do not need digital the 346XT is a great radio. I use 346XT or the 330 when I am home where there is no digital and the 346XT is getting used more and more.
