Default Official Uniden Statement (or practical experience) with Windows 7?

I'm thinking about making the plunge and updating to Windows 7. Will my UASD programs (246, 330, 396T and 996T) still work? How about the firmware updating utility?

They work fine. Even my oddball USB serial adapters work on Windows 7. You can also run any legacy programme with Windows XP Mode, perfect for those old software such as ARC780.

The UASD software and USB-1 drivers officially work under Windows 7.

Been in that test environment since Windows 7 Beta through RC 1.

When talking about Win 7 perhaps it would be better to state which version you are running.
Win 7 Professional and Ultimate editions will run Win XP Mode while Starter and Home Premium do not.

Win 7 Ultimate w/UASD 330T and USB-1 work fine for me. Also FreeScan w/a 996T on USB-1 works fine.

I'm running 64 bit Win7 Ultimate and I'm not having any issues with scanner radio programming interface cables, or programming/control software.

It is not necessary to install, and use the Windows XP VM. In fact, it would probably run slower. 64 bit Win7 supports 32 bit apps through WoW64.

Older 16 bit installers, and applications will not run on 64 bit Win7, but most all 32 bit should run fine.
