Default 996XT, changing channels it goes through trunk frequencies

If I press the hold/search button so I can change trunk channels manually why does it cycle through the group of frequencies that make up the site?

When turning the knob it should only go through the trunk ids that I programmed and not the frequencies.

is there a way to set the radio not to do that? since it is pointless to have it go through the site frequencies.

No, because the control channels can be any of the site/system frrequencies, That are apt to & can change at ANY time.

True but since I am changing Virtual channels (trunk ID's) it makes no sense to mess with the actual site/system frequencies.

on my older BC780 XLT when I am in trunk mode and changing channels manually instead of ID scan it only goes through them as expected.

But on the 996XT I go through all the IDs manually and then it goes through the frequencies. It would have been nice if the 996XT behaves the same way.

Wirelessly posted (MOT-QA30/00.72 UP.Browser/7.2.7.5.610 (GUI) MMP/2.0)

So, from what I understand, you want to be able to manually go to and hold on a certain talkgroup, correct?

If so, press hold, make sure you're NOT in function mode during any of this, and turn the knob, it should go through all the talkgroups in the order programmed.

If you want to change sites and hold on a certain site, hold down the "hold" button, until it says "system hold on." Press func, use the know to scroll through sites.

Tell me if this is the info you wanted....

When the 996XT is in "search" on a Trunk system and you press "hold" it usually stops on the freqys of the trunk system, when you press Func-Search-Scan button it will change to "SCAN" and will only scan your preprogrammed TGID's and then when you press "hold in scan it will stop on a IDTG not the freqys....
