ac charging adaptor for 396t

I am not getting the normal charging message on my 396T
radio works fine with charged batteries,
I checked the adaptor and there is no power coming
from the plug that goes into the radio. so I think the
adaptor just failed, is this a known or common occurence
with these adaptors?
where is the best place to get another one for the 396T
looks backorderd at uniden, I might have to just wait
and use charged batteries.

Had my adapter fail as well, due to wear on cord right at the transformer. Radio Shack carries AD-to-DC adapters. Get Model # 273-1766 with a type "B" plug (at least type "B" is what I remember getting - take your radio with you just to be sure).
