I have both, i think both are about the same performance wise but the scannermaster one doesn't need any additional connectors.

I don't have the other antenna mentioned so all I can speak to is the seeker antenna and it is the only antenna that will work inside the two different office buildings I work at. If I try the stock antenna or the Radio Shack 800MHz antenna it won't pick up the 800MHz system I listen but the seeker will.

Good Luck,
Mike

The Seeker is also very good on VHF and UHF (Including T Band)

The Seeker antenna can't be beat, in my humble opinion. But I would not use it with a handheld radio (especially one of the smaller ones) because it is so large. Mine is 10 1/2 inches long, and the first 1 1/2 inches nearest the base is the same circumference as a dime. It is also on the heavy side and not very flexible. I attach mine to a BNC magmount and run it to mobile/base radios.

The Seeker is fine on a PSR-500 but it definitely puts the 396XT off balance, causing it to tip over very easily. I prefer the RS-800 with the 396XT. Uniden supplies the adapter you would need for that antenna. I wish one of the antenna manufacturers would make a SMA version of that antenna. Probably won't happen if GRE holds the patent on it.

Hi,

I'm using a Scanducky - SMA (from Mobile One here in Australia) with my Uniden BCD396T.

Can be fouund here; Mobile One Australia Pty Ltd

UHF VHF Helical 25MHz - 1300MHz 50 Ohms.

Awesome performance compared to the Uniden antenna (as supplied). Worth a look.

Cheers,
Paul.
