Default 996XT Bandscope Question

Hi all,

I have been playing with my new Xt for a little while and I finally decided to try the band scope feature, I hate to admit but I think I understand the premise (To search for active freq's within a range) but I could not really figure out some of the settings. For instance, say I wanted to search between 400 - 460mhz, how do I enter that? Also how do you figure out what step size to use? is there some chart? Thanks for all your help!

Hi, I'm a Electronic Test Engineer with Orbit Instuuments ORBT on the stock exchange. The IF Sweep feature is very popular with techs and you will find it in alot of Ham radios. I bought one of these BCD996XT and have been programming it using rs232 and Visual Basic V6.0. I've been using the 396XT protocols because the 996xt hasn't been released to the public. I'm not happy about that. The Manual is very poor especially if your are new to scanners. But Radio is pretty Good. Butel's Pro software for the BandScope is laughable. If you wish to understand the IF BandSccpe Email Me at Kconno6121@Verizon.net. Call Sign N2MAC
