How do I delete the factory programmed frequencies or at least stop them from scanning? I tried 2,9,hold and then turning the unit on but it didn't work.
You cannot delete them, but you can stop them from being scanned. Press the top two buttons to the immediate right of the display until all four icons at the bottom of the display turn off.
I wish these were disabled by default. It took me 30 minutes to figure out how to turn them off on my BCT15 when I first powered it up. And they're only marginally useful in my opinion, especially the Beartracker (except for giving older users heart attacks). I also got one of the pre-programmed city's stuck on my 346XT; while these are much more useful for some people, it still took a wipe of the memory in Freescan for me to turn it off.
By doing what UP Man said (getting rid of the State programmed freqs, I was able to eliminate the every 2 seconds or so interruption in reception caused by the "Beartracker". Ah, joy. Many thanks.
