FINALLY
I was on the SCANNER MASTER site and found Scanner Master Blog with a step by step installation of new firmware in the BC125AT by Jonathan Higgins. I tried it and it WORKED. I found it by accident and wish it had been mentioned on RadioReference. It would have saved a lot of time and frustration.
THANK YOU JONATHAN HIGGINS.

When I press hold on a transmission while scanning, the sound cuts out. I hope this gets fixed if there's another firmware update.

Could you describe the symptom more thoroughly? Do you mean it briefly cuts out only the instant you press HOLD, or that it periodically cuts out while holding on a channel? If the latter, what is the interval between cutouts?

Yes, the sound briefly cuts out the instant I hit the hold button. Like its getting interrupted is how I would explain the cut out.

Okay..so why does it do that? I miss part of the transmission when it does that.

I could set a delay at the end of the transmission and hit hold then. But I'm used to hitting hold when I hear something interesting at the beginning of a transmission.

I also own a 125AT. I only lose sound for a split second when I press Hold during a transmission. Even with the Beep set to OFF, it still cuts out. I think that's just the way it is. I don't find that I miss but a word or two.

Default 125AT Data transfer

Is Uniden going to have a update in it's software so a person can transfer data from Radio Reference to the BC125AT, such as the case for the 396XT's handhelds? I noticed on the 125 data program there is no indication for any type of transfers. Does anybody know any shortcuts maybe copy and paste information from Radio Reference? I understand the 396XT is a non numbered bank radio but it would be nice if a person could have transfers possible. Thanks

It can already do that with the proper program and a RR subscription. Are you looking for something other then that?

Roughly translated to english with google translate "I just bought the BC 125AT and I already sells a radio such that we can not do anything with it and I can not listen to the police and firefighter Longueuil because the analog and frequency are not good for this BC125AT so beware to those who would buy one."

It is an analog only scanner. It is not the scanners fault it doesn't receive the frequencies you want to listen to. Maybe a digital model would be better for your area?
