Default BC396XT pricing

I think I may be in the market for a new scanner. Not that I really need one, but I WANT one. Been looking at the BC396XT. Looks like the best price I can find is on Amazon, $440.57, Amazon.com: Uniden BCD396XT Handheld TrunkTracker IV Digital Police Scanner: Electronics
With my Prime Membership, two-day shipping is free. Anyone see it for a lower price? If I can arrange the funds, I may be sporting a new handheld by the end of the week.

By the way, Amazon also has the BCD996XT for $452.94 if anyone is interested. It's a couple of bucks more than ScannerMaster and Grove, but compare the shipping costs as well. Don't even think of getting these from Rat Shack, they have them both overpriced at $599.

Why not just order from our sponsor, Scanner Master? Use coupon code "tripleplay" and save $15 off their already low price of $449.95:
Uniden Bearcat BCD396XT Police Scanner Radio

And they're offering free UPS Ground shipping.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize what they were offering. I actually went straight to their website first to check the price. Maybe I need to start dropping hints for an early Father's Day gift.

man! where was that deal 2 months ago? lol. $435 shipped to your door will be VERY hard to beat for a brand new (not refurbished) 396xt. I got mine to my door for $447 in february, through ebay.

Don't feel bad. I bought mine locally in person at HRO a year ago because I needed to use it that day and my GRE was too big to conceal. $499 plus 7.75% tax - yikes.

And yet I love it and have never regretted it. It has become my main portable.

Wonder if Scannermaster is shipping the 396-996 "XT" models with the new improved decoding firmware upgrade or do they charge a extra $$ for it.....

It's not that hard to do it yourself.

It took me about 15 minutes because I had forgotten how to do the ugrade and had to look that up first!
Since the most recent firmware change has to do mostly with P-25 and mine already seems to work fine on my local system I didn't see any change except the satisfaction of having the Latest version!

Just picked up my third scanner (2 996xt's and a 396xt) in 2 months through ScannerMaster.

Great crew and I saved with FREE shipping plus 15 dollars off plus my frequent buyer rewards saved me around $50.00 in total when I placed my order today.

Deal is/was on 996xt and the 396xt from Uniden and some of the GRE scanners.

Amazingly, the 396xt can be purchased new in Australia for $385, that's about US$390!
This may be the first time I have seen any radio equipment retailed cheaper 'down under' than in the US.
Pity the 996XT are not sold down here for some reason though :-(

If you are patient and careful, you can find a good deal on Ebay. About 6 months ago I picked up a like new BCD396XT for $237 shipped. Also picked up a BCD996XT for $275. You don't see them go that cheap very often, but it happens.
