HP-1 End of Transmission Noise

I have a number of Uniden Scanners, 996, 245 etc and I also have a HomePatrol and on all of the scanners except for the Homepatrol at the end of transmission there is no noise.

With the Homepatrol at the end of a transmssion there is a "cccchhhhkkk" sound. This sound annoys my wife.

Any way of getting rid of this sound at the end of each transmission? My other scanners (tuned to the same frequencies) don't to that.

Have you tried setting the squelch a little higher?

Yup, with Squelch all the way up or all the way down it makes the same sound at the end of the transmission.

It looks like you have the same problem I reported in this thread: HP1 Squelch Issue

Hopefully one of us gets a response.

I fear shipping it to Uniden Repair for them to tweak an internal setting might be the solution.. and that will take forever.
