There are people that collect old scanners.

I had a half a dozen just sitting in storage and put them on Ebay.

A couple sold for more than they were new.

Old scanners are still nice to look at and use.

Wish more people took an interest in mature scanner technology. Most were built to a higher standard than today's wiz bang receivers. I enjoy reading about modifying yesterday's radios with today's proven technology creating resto-mods.

Thanks for the great comments guys... I had some fun times with my scanner back in the day before they blocked cell phones.

That model was my first scanner also, back on xmas 1985. Simpler time indeed. Just a few frequencies programmed in from Police Call Scanner Guide and you had most of the local pds. Unlike now where everyone has their own frequency or P25 digital and trunking.
