There are no channels for close call. Usually, the default setting is to scan all bands, but could tell it to skip 800, for example, if you know there are no 800mHz systems in the area. When it finds some signal, it will save the frequency in a system called close call, and it will do this for as many different signals as it finds. There are many other options for notification, depending your model.

Close Call tunes the radio to a strong signal.
You do not program any frequencies for close call, although you can 'block' some frequency ranges.

It needs to be stronger than all other nearby signals.

Easier to Read BCD996XT Digital Scanner Manual

Here's what happens with a very strong signal and 20+ scanners set to alert on close call hits.

Close Call does not do that. However, your model also has priority, and it works the same basic way as your radio shack. Read the manual on Priority

No close call Priority has to do with Close Call, you want to go through your menu and set PRIORITY.

Neither can I. I searched the online manual for Priority, and all I found was CC. I have never heard of ANY Uniden without channel priority, so maybe UPman will clarify

No. As we have all said, they are totally different.
