Default Kansas City P25 Programming isuues

After quite a bit of reading a searching, I'm stumped. I have a bcd396xt scanner, and I am attempting to program KCPD into it. The problem that I'm running into is that all of the talkgroups are 5 digit numbers, such as 33050 for the city-wide group. The radio will not accept these figures as a group number. I have Independence PD programmed in and working well, and would hope looking into this program's settings would help, but Independence has 2 digit groups IDs. If anyone can direct some insight towards me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Make sure the system is programmed as a "MOT TYPE II/P25" system. That might be why it's not letting you put in the 5 digit talkgroups. If you're using software, such as FreeScan, I have compiled a file for you I believe may be of interest to you. It contains all the KCPD talkgroups, KC Fire, Hospitals, etc. Otherwise, I can try to talk you through getting it programmed if needed. I do not own a digital scanner, but a BCT15X so I might be able to help you get it squared away. PM me if interested in the file, and I can email it to you. Also indicate what software you use, if applicable, and I will try and compose a file geared for the software you have.

Your scanner should have no problem accepting a "talk group Id's" with five digits or two digits or any of those combinations in the same system.

Make sure you have selected the system type as "P25 Standard" and the ID format as "Decimal".

I have all of MARRS in my scanner in five different systems. I could make a freescan file specifically for MARRS if you wanted it.
