Simple, use the "Bill me later" option. The joke will be on them because of the earth ending this month. So there is no way they can hold you to make the payments.

Default Big Value,Inc. BC-72XLT(Typo Error)$8,418.95

Hi David (and all members for that matter too)and Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. I just called Big Value, Inc.at 1-866-673-7187 and spoke to Kimberly and she stated that she will either correct or pull the add from eBay!! This is WILD and beyond anything I have ever seen so with that being said..consider this being taken care of. It also should known that I do NOT work for Uniden America Corportation or eBay.

Hey Cool! I had quite the chuckle when I looked at that. I was looking in the listing to see if it was some kind of lot of 100 or something.

I've seen the same outrageous pricing on other sites...an example is:

UNIDEN Scanner, Desktop, Black - Two Way Radios - 20V756|HOMEPATROL-1 - Grainger Industrial Supply

UNIDEN Scanner, Trunking, Black, 25000 Channels - Two Way Radios - 20V760|BCD996XT - Grainger Industrial Supply

Prices running almost twice as much as the normal online prices. I guess they hope someone will stumble onto the item and buy it on impulse without doing any research? Buyer beware...

Are you the eBay price police? If someone wants to try and sell something and you don't like the price, move on to another place. No one is holding a gun to your head to buy his scanner.

Are you going to rag on me when I got $1500 for an XTS5000, when others are we're going for $800? I started my auction for the xts5000 at 99 cents and people bid it past $1500. Is that my fault? Should I refund the high bidder because others were selling for close to half what I got?

I don't think it is outrageuos for him to point out the typing mistake of pricing a $100 scanner at over $8000. He probably did them a favor.

Agreed... besides, a new XTS is easily valued at over $1500, but a new 996XT for almost $1000.... N-E-V-E-R!

I think we all understand there's a very big difference between someone who lists an auction and starts it out at a reasonable amount and then someone comes along and pushes it to some crazy amount vs. someone who specifically starts their item out at an unreasonable/extortionate amount. I certainly recognize the difference between these two scenario's and I would never think poorly of an Ebay seller who starts their item out at a reasonable amount but ends up making a lot of money on it because of other bidders.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen Ebay idiots bid a used item up beyond what they could even buy it for brand new! However, there ARE people out there who are stupid enough and/or don't do their homework before-hand when they're bidding on something, or maybe they just get caught up in the moment

Whatever the case may be I can say I too have sold an item or two over the years that sold for MUCH more than market value but they always paid up and never said a word about it to me. I do dislike people who begin auctions using extortionate pricing schemes, but it's not your fault if you start it at a reasonable cost and some ding-dong pushes it up to some crazy amount that makes you wonder if the're even gonna pay for it! That's certainly beyond your control when people do that and you are not to blame when this occurs.

Some people just have to keep bidding just so they can win no matter how much they pay for it.

That's what I was gonna say originally . . . "But it has FREE SHIPPING!"

I haven't sold anything on Ebay in a long time so I don't know if they still charge you if your item doesn't sell. I know they used to charge an "insertion fee", which was an amount you would pay to begin the auction, and that was based on how much you started it off at. That's why a lot of people begin their auctions using a low price or even one penny. However, if you started an auction at say EIGHT GRAND the insertion fee would have to be huge!

Maybe someone else can answer my question if Ebay charges an insertion fee if your auction does not sell, as I just don't know anymore

On the listing for the 72, it indicates that they have more than 10 available at that price, ok can understand that. But, right beside the available quantity it also indicates that they have sold 25, at that price ????

If you click on the amount sold, it shows the last five sold along with the price the buyer paid. Looks like they're all in the 81 to 88 dollar range.

I've sold approx 50 things on eBay and used PayPal for payment. Never had one problem. Also have purchased approx 50 items as well. Never a problem.

Why is it that so many people are against eBay and/or PayPal? They have always been fair and honest to me.

I unknowingly purchased one of those stolen military XTS2500 on eBay. 8 months later the Feds come by and confiscate the radio. PayPal refunded me the whole cost of the radio without me even requesting a refund. Remember this is also 8 months after the PayPal transaction, but I got my money back.

If you feel PayPal has wronged you, file a complaint with the FDIC.
