If I update the frequencies in my Home Patrol, does this put the new update (111) in my Home Parol? I do not want that. I only want to update the frequencies.

Thanks

The update for the HomePatrol is 2.04.1, not "111". You will get this update when you do "Update>Firmware" in Sentinel with your HomePatrol attached. It won't update when you do "Update>Database" (or whatever the other option is).

I have 2.04.1 installed in my Home Patrol. I want to update the frequencies from the date base. I do not want to install the new update about simulcast systems.

See the answer to your other post about this here:

Uninstall 111 ?

If you already have firmware version 2.04.01 in your Home Patrol, you have already updated your firmware to the latest release.

If you have 2.04.1, you already have done the simulcast update. To update the frequencies, do the normal update procedure in Sentinel. It's completely independent of the firmware ("simulcast") update.

That is normal for the current firmware.

This is what mine shows:

Name: update.jpg

Size: 15.1 KB

When you are connected to your computer in the Mass Storage Mode, you can access the files on the SD card. Look in the "HomePatrol" folder for a file named "HomePatrol.info".

Open that file in a text editor and you will see the full version number just after the ESN.... 2.04.01

are the Radio Shack (Grecom) scanners prone to this simulcast issue? Untill 4 days ago i had no issues what so ever recieving (5 (5) 043 (2B) Duluth - Simulcast) now 3 out of the 5 voice channels are completly garbled I have no idea why. and this same issue showed up on 3 different scanners at the same time (all Grecom) I am not having this issue with the farther away Carlton County site however. I previously never needed anything other than a 800Mhz duckie on my handheld to get perfect reception and now i need to drive a half mile from my house for the issue to clear up. Any help out there is much appreciated

My township police / fire radio will be moving to the 700 mhz trunked frequencies in 2014, clear voice. I like the features of the HP can any confirm if HP will be updated to accept the 700 mhz trunking?
Several folks have said there is only radio on the market today that will but if I’m going to invest in a new scanner I want to be covered for more than a year’s worth of changes.

The HP1 handles 700MHz P25 trunking, so long as it is not TDMA (Phase II). Not knowing your precise location I can't say if you'll be safe or not, but unless your system will be P2, you're OK. Even if it is P2, you could go with a GRE PSR-800 (but if you don't need Phase II, I'd personally go with the HP1).

BCD996XT still at ver. 1.04 ??

You don't have to wait. Upman has stated this many times. The above post is one example.

Not slamming the OP, but this question would be better asked on the GRE lists, not here! My answer, as an owner of the PSR-800 is certainly YES!

Simulcast reception could be made worse if they recently rebanded or narrowbanded, either (both) of which reduce the bandwidth, and thereby the signal strength.

The Montgomery County, MD simulcast system is much worse on the GRE than on the HP-1 (or my other Uniden radios, for that matter). GRE has 2 Beta updates for the DSP, but both made mine worse, not better, so I went back and loaded the current "public" version which only slightly improves the reception.

As another poster said in a reply, none of Uniden's current scanners are capable of being upgraded to support Phase II P25. An entirely new radio would have to be obtained (and such a radio if it exists in the Uniden arsenal hasn't been announced yet).

I would like to see the option to delete multiple recordings at once instead of deleting them one by one. I regularly record at night while Im sleeping, and it is quite cumbersome to delete 20 recordings every morning. I suppose I could accomplish this task by hooking the scanner to the pc, but ... you know...

Absolutely agreed Grandpa Frank, although there are several I do like to keep in my HP-1 for demo purposes. So perhaps it would be possible to "lock" those and then delete the rest. Certainly worth thinking about for a future firmware upgrade.
