UPMan,What about a update for the Uniden 396T and the 996T that improves reception on Sinucast systems. If this can be done for the 396XT and the 996XT there should be a fix.

Tim: For the last time the answer is no announced updates for the 396T and 996T or 296/796 or BC3000 or BC235XLT or BCIII or any
other Uniden manufactured scanner made in last 30 plus years.
Please read carefully UPMan's last post:

The 2 threads with firmware releases have to do with the 396XT and HP-1 only.
Please quit asking.
Thanks

Am I missing somethng, or does this updater require a live Internet connection at the time of update? That's awkward if you don't have home access. Probably explains why the 996XT update isn't out - ripping the unit out of an in-dash installation to get it near a network drop is going to be a non-starter.

I recommend that you reset them back to default after applying the update if the result is worse.

The default should be 11 and 50 for the P25 Adjust Mode and P25 Adjust level. I tried setting it to 8 and 200 and 8 and 100 and I lost the audio and the control channel so I put it back to 11 and 50 to the auto adjust setting and it seems fine again. Others may be able to fine tune more that what what I tried.

Most trunked simulcast CQPSK systems qualify.

LSM (Linear Simulcast Modulation), not LMS.

Nothing has been released for the 996XT at this point, so please get your facts straight before you post. It's "si mu lcast", by the way.

Thanks UpMan. I thought I would report this was an extremely simple upgrade. I don't know what if any differences to expect here on the Colorado P25 DTRS system. Everything seems fine so far. I was using a P25 mode of 8 with firmware 1.10 as that seemed to yield lower error rates. I am trying to figure out if that is different with the new firmware but preliminary indications are that 8 is still better than 11 (keeping P25 level at 50).

Gentleman, A release needs to be made to UPGRADE the 396T and the 996T as they both have the same problem. Please get you facts right as this is Simucast LSM. Just to clear the air I have read Paul's post 3 times before posting.A lot of people including me own the Uniden 396T and the Uniden 996T. If a Upgrade in frimware can be done for the 396XT and the 996XT then a Update in frimware can be released for the 396T and the Uniden 996T.

Tim, just when we thought your credibility on these forums couldn't possibily get any lower.
Your continuing claims of being a "Professional Scanner User" are nothing more than laughable at this point!
Good Grief!!!

Enough guys. Everyone (including Tim) let it go.
Any further back and forth posts will be deleted and warnings/infractions
will be issued. Let's please get back on topic of the 396XT ONLY
1.11.01 Firmware update.
Thanks!

Installed the new update on both the HP1 and 396XT this morning, for the Tennessee Valley Radio Communication System. So far, the update is producing a clean transmission between comms within the different talkgroups of the system. Prior to the update, comms were hit and miss 65% of the time, with digitizing during most transmissions. Based on a comparision between the 996XT and the updated 396XT, the difference equates to a winter night in North Dakota and summer day in Arizona.
