Default Home Patrol On Craiglist

Hi-Bewarwe of what is being sold on Craiglist. You have no idea as to the condition of this Home Patrol and if it has the latest software updates.
Just food for thought here my friend.

Why would not having the latest software updates be a problem for buying a used Home Patrol?

They may be talking about the extreme update which is an extra $100. It if doesn't have it the price is nothing to write home about but if it does it's a good deal.

i was in contact with this guy (by phone), seems legit, but as I said, my family bought me a new one for birthday, and my wife wanted the warranty! 2 yrs full replacement for about $100 bucks at RS. he told me it had the extreme upgrade installed also, but i'm not sure he understood what I was asking! so if you live in the area you could put your hands on it.

Agreed, but most Craigs List transactions are done in person and it would be very easy to tell if Extreme was installed before the purchase. It's not something that you would have "no idea" about.

Original post from the OP about that....

looking at a used HP-1! Help Please

as I said, he was going to meet me, and I was gonna get it! best thing to do is contact seller, and if you live close enough go check it out! Just saying......
nothing to debate, we all know how craigslist works.

There is nothing wrong with buying a Home Patrol Hp-1 from craigslist. I bought mine for $250.00 cash and there nothing wrong with it. I set up a time to see the scanner working and checked it out before buying it in my local area. If you are concerned about the Extreme update you can buy that later on line thru Uniden. You can get all the updates free of charge. They are available every Monday morninhg for your area by state. There are some great deals on cragislist that I have made in the past. If you want the scanner make a apointment with the seller, go check out the scanner and if is what you want buy it. I will be buying a second HP-1 later down the road for my car.
