Default 396XT

How do you set the 396XT to display the frequency?
What page in the user manual explains these steps??

The function plus the #6 will change your display mode, I assume that is what you are looking for. You have 3 different display modes to choose from.

You have to HOLD first before doing that too, or obviously you'll be turning on/off GQK 6 for whatever is being scanned at that moment.

All the secondary functions for each key are marked, though maybe not so clearly, below the keys, and explaind pretty well in the above linked easier to read manual.

I just learned that the close call works better on its own antenna. Not a 30 foot cable to antenna. It works, not as good though. Ive had mine 2.6 years now. I still dont know how to work the BEAR TRACKER.

Now that I got the close call to work-it wont shut up. It loves the A.M radio stations. It loves W.O.K.Q--easy country.. Not on my scanner!! I dont know what I did to it, but that function gets an A......Plus would be given if it werent so hard to turn on..Another brand does it in 2 buttons...Oh well, great toy

That will toggle Close Call Mode.

Actually four button presses to change display mode and resume scanning.

Easier to Read BCD396XT Digital Scanner Manual

To toggle between Display modes 1, 2 or 3 Hold on any channel and press Func then 6(disp). Press Hold to resume.
