Any idea when we can expect to see a firmware update for the BCD996XT, similar to the recent one for the 396XT and HP-1, that addresses LSM??

This question gets asked a few times each week. If you read through the 396XT/996XT Firmware sticky at the top of the Uniden Forum, you'll get the idea.

Page 4: UPMan: "We have only announced/released updates for the BCD396XT and HomePatrol-1. It is our policy not to discuss updates that are not imminent."

The short answer is - NOBODY here knows, people can only speculate.

I feel it will be forthcoming. I would rather wait and have it right. If we don't see one in the next 30 days it might be because a new model will be coming out.

With some pros/cons being posted about the 396XT upgrade, who knows, Uniden make take a second look at the 396XT upgrade and another version may come out. Time will tell.
