Question New scanner

I am thinking of getting a new scanner since I can't pick up North Brunswick on the one I have now. I am thinkin of getting a UNIDEN BC250D. Will this one be able to pick up North Brunswick Police?
THANKS!!

Where precisely are you (county/state is fine)?

With many systems being rebanded, it's important to pick out a scanner that can support this. The 250 is not one of these.

With a better idea of where you are, folks can give a better recommendation. Mike

nbpd is on a digital <p-25> radio system, according to the database. as long as they remain non-encrypted <in the clear> you will be able to monitor them with a digital capable scanner. i highly recommend the uniden bcd396xt or uniden bcd996xt. keep a few thing's in mind.
1.whatever digital scanner you elect to buy, will be expensive new.
2.with care, you can get a used one thru several source's.
3. the county pro-voice system is unmonitorable. i also believe piscataway twp. is too.

if you buy online, i highly recommend scannermaster. they will price match the lowest legit price you can find. if you decide to buy local, there's newport bay electronics,rt 18 sb in east brunswick, interstate electronics, hgw 36 sb in hazlet or advanced electronics supply in lodi.

happy hunting & good luck.

Definately NOT the 250D..old technology.. does not support 9600 baud systems..
Cannot be rebanded etc...

Go with the 396XT handheld or 996XT base/mobile..
You will be very happy
