BCD996XT Alert tones on RID
I tried searching for the answer to this, but missed it if it is there.
Do the 996XT channel alert tones work on a Radio ID (UID)?
I have a list of alpha tagged radio IDs in a GRP under my system, and the alpha tags display properly on the scanner, however I cannot get any of the alerts to activate when a RID becomes active. Tone alerting on channels works fine.
I am able to get radio ID alerts to work on my GRE scanners, but not this Uniden.

Put the UID's in a GROUP, then SET ALERT:
Menu->Select System->Edit Group->Select Group->Edit Channel->"Unit XXXXXX"->iXXXXXX->SET Alert
Rinse and Repeat for Unit YYYYYY and iYYYYYY
Take a nap
It's right next to Set Number Tag in the Menu.
Enjoy!

DDT, I guess I was not clear. I've done all that. No alerting.

Joey,
You are correct, Sir. As a Japanese Instructor I had used to say holding up a finger, when asked a difficult question, "Ahhh. Needa Much Invesssigation!"
I tried it in ID Scan/Search and also verified that the correct tag was showing up. No alerting.
This is weird, because I have alerting set up for I Call - "i0" - and that works fine. Good catch!

Why?
"Because" or "Just because" is not an answer.

Jeez, give him a chance to answer before assuming he's not going to provide a sufficient reason.
The answer to the question is because an iCall is treated the same as a TG transmission, as opposed to a RID/UID, which is along for the ride with a TG transmission. Just because they appear to be in the same iXXXXX format doesn't mean they serve the same function or purpose.
RID/UID alerting is not available on Uniden scanners, only GRE.
