Default FW upgrade BCT 15 Back DB 9 port

Hey all my serial front port is missing a pin

can I upgrade the FW on my BCT15 via the Serial port on the back of the scanner?

No. The rear port cannot be used for firmware updates.

they rebanded my area and it is all 800MHZ here

The 15 does rebanding. Edit. You said the small front micro USB port is missing a pin?

Is sending it in to Uniden to have the front port replaced an option for you? I'm not sure if it would be a flat rate (because I've never used Uniden Repair before), or if it would be an hourly rate. Seem's something like that would most likely fall under a flat rate.

If it was me I'd send it in, especially with the 15 being a more recent model. To nice a radio to not be able to keep updated. Just my .02
