Uniden BCT15X
Just ordered one fro RadioShack while they were on sell.
I got it for $179.99 no shipping or tax charges.
My 1 question is I have one trunked system where I live, is there a way to import the talk groups I have found with my Pro-197, or will I end up doing a lot of copy, and pasting?
It is just the talk groups that I was wondering about.
I will learn to use free scan to program it with.
So I will have a new feeder radio next week.
Does this come with a programing cable, or do I need to order one?

Great, I wasn't sure if I needed the Uniden USB-1 Scanner Radio PC Interface Cable or not.
Thank You Very Much.

Do you have a 9 pin comm port on your computer? If so, you are fine.
If you only have USB then you need the USB-1 or a Serial-USB adapter.

Yes I do.
Thank You.
But is there an easy way to copy talk groups, the rest will be easy they are analog, just 1 trunked system.

You also don't HAVE to use a programming cable or computer. It just makes it easier.

The easiest way I have found, without using the automatic download option from Radio Reference(which you need a premium membership for, or be a feed provider which I see you are.), is to use FreeScan, you can copy an entire page from the RR Database webpages, and import them into the program with the EZ-Grab option. It works fairly well in my experience.
You can likely use the EZ-Grab from your other programs, as long as you can highlight and "copy" the list onto your clipboard from the other program.

It's not easy, but it can be done.

I just do it manually. I wonder why the Uniden searches 25.000 straight thru 13.000mhz, and R.S scanners dont? Alot of missed freq seqrches.

Have no clue, there are some users here where I live that use the 70Mhz band, so I will see.
