Default BC785D Trunking Problems.

I have a 785D that locks up on trunking systems. It works great on conventional systems, but locks up if it's scanning a trunked system. Is this a programming issue or do I need to sent it to Uniden for repair of this and it's other issues?

See if this points you in the right direction:

Roger that. Others will chime in here too, so I'll get it started;.

What system are you trying to monitor? Is it Digital? P25? Where are you, within 50 miles? How much change do you have saved up in your cigar box?

Good luck!

For starters, place the squelch at 12:00 position and see if it starts scanning. Sometimes the squelch threshhold is factory set at a different point than conventional-maybe a QC error. Depending on how distant the intended target is, you might want to go full clockwise to catch noise then back out to just beyond the threshhold. In trunking, squelch matters to catch control channel.
