Default BCD396XT - Band Scanning?

I apologize if this has been answered but I've searched the forum without finding an answer...

Does the BCD396XT have a band scanning mode like the older Uniden's where you could scan the Air band for example? I do not want to have to create a group and manually add every frequency in the Air band. I would like to just scan the range and toggle it on and off. Perhaps there is an easy way to do this or maybe not. Thanks in advance.

The answer to your Question is yes you can do the search you asked by tapping the function button scroll up to SEARCH FOR... then tap Service Search then you'll be at what you were looking for it covers ( Public Safety, News, Ham Radio, Marine, Railroad,Air , CB Radio, FRS---MURS, Racing , FM Broadcast, Military, Special ) all in the service area.

One of the best ways to learn about this scanner is to look at this right here:

Easier to Read BCD396XT Digital Scanner Manual << it's from marks scanners.com

You can order his well written manual for the 396 the 996 and 342 through scanner Master have a look and i hope this helps Ra
