PLEASE excuse my ignorance. While scanners are not completely new to me, digital ones are and trunking definitely is new. So I am seeking some help.
Macomb County (Michigan) Sheriff's Office preps have been rebanded. I do not know if they are on the new freqs yet but I do not that the radios have been changed. Thus my question.
For the 396XT would it be better to enter all new freqs or use a reband plan? Which is easier and works best?
I have not been able to find the rebanding changes yet and will keep looking. If some one knows the new freqs I'd sure appreciate a copy of them.
Does anyone know why they call the portable radios preps? I asked a couple of deputies and they did not know why.
Finding the new frequencies is no mystery - just drop all the frequencies between 866 and 868 Mhz by 15 Mhz. As this system is P25, no custom table should be needed.

Yes, it is on the state police system. That sure is easy to fix. Thanks for the help. Greatly appreciated.
No problem Mike it all stems from Detroit PD they were the first in the nation to carry portable radios. Hence the word P.R.E.P. I hope that takes care of that:-)
:
The first truly mobile two-way radio was developed in Australia in 1923 by Senior Constable Frederick William Downie of the Victorian Police. The Victoria Police were the first in the world to use wireless communication in cars, putting an end to the inefficient status reports via public telephone boxes which had been used until that time. The first sets took up the entire back seat of the Lancia patrol cars. (Source Wikipedia).
