Thumbs up BCD396T and Bluetooth Combination

Just tried linking my BCD396T with my Motorola Bluetooth HS850 headset using the Cardo BTA 11 adapter for non-BT mobile phones, and a Radio Shack 274-397 audio adapter.

It works great. Of course I also use the HS850 for my cellphone.

Cool, I've been meaning to try something like that. I noticed Jensen and Jabra has some cool bluetooth transmitters and receivers. The Jensens even has an 3.5mm jacks.

I don't know about the Jensen, but I have two Jabras and they work great - on my scanner, on my cordless phone, on anything with earphone output. I can even use it on my computer with a little adapter I wired up to go from its plug to the 2 jacks on my sound card.

Now, if there is only a way to control the scanner with bluetooth. I found an rs232 bluetooth adapter http://www.485solutions.com/product_...e=Sub&Trail=28

If I knew how to write software, I would develop a program for windows mobile that would let a user control and listen to the bcd396 with andy pda or smartphone that is bluetooth capable. It would be nice to mount my scanner out-of-site somewhere in my car and still be able to use it. Anyone think this can be done?

Thumbs up Bluetooth 396

Well got my 396 wired up for bluetooth and it is the greatest thing listening in the vehicle or just walking around. The best part is people think you are talking on a phone and make life easier. Now if we can get a bluetooth enabled handheld for both data and voice it would be the greatest.
