I just recieved an old Bearcat 100 that I bought from a fellow RR member. It sure is an oldie but goodie. Great collectors item.

Are you referring to the BC100XL? I've got one of those. 16 channels? Or maybe there was a pre-XL model.

There was a pre XL version just called 100, also with 16 channels.

The 100xlt and 200xlt were 100 and 200 ch. respectively. They were cool. Good audio. I don't recall another 100 model?

Default Retro Idea lol

Where other than Ebay can you buy a scanner like that?
I LOVe old scanners they look so elegant ,so timeless,
soo Classy.
Heck,
I think Uniden should have a Retro line
The insides would be "new", IE Digital ,1300 mghz etc
But the outside would look like an 1970's model etc
Anyhow,
Crista

I have an old BC 140 (10 channel) and believe it or not it is more sensitive and less vulnerable to intermod then any of the new top of the line scanners! I pick up stuff with this while the other scanners (PRO 2055, BC780, BC898, PRO 2067, BC246, BC895) just keep scanning.

Why is this?

You would think with all the new technology that the more recent scanners would be more sensitive.

The 100 and 100XL preceded the 100XLT. Both were 16 channel models with the XL being newer and having additional features. Both used 6 standard AA batteries.
