Default A question and many more to come:

a new 246t owner here.
Is there a way of configuring the device to keep on scanning the frequencies even after it finds something unless I specifically tell it to stop. The reason is often it finds channels with weird sounds( like machinery, buzzing, beeps etc) and i have to press Func+Scan to have it keep on scanning.

thanks

Are you searching or scanning? If you are searching, it will stop on any frequency that has a strong enough signal to break the squelch. If you hear a frequency you dont want to listen to, just press the lockout button and it will continue searching and ignore that frequency. If you are scanning, it will only recieve the frequencies that it is programmed to scan. You can also lockout these frequencies while scanning, but if you don't want to listen to them at all, you can just delete them and/or replace them with frequencies you want to listen to.

you could try enabling the "data skip" option ... that should skip the channel if the scanner thinks its a data only channel, like a trunking control channel... look up data skip in your user manual (if you dont have a hard copy there is a link to the .pdf in the wiki section)
