Squelch Noise

I have developed this weired sort of high pitched squelch noise on my BCD996T. I have tried re-programming it, changing posistions. I already have it on a heavy duty battery back up surge protector. This has been going on about 7-10 days, and my warranty expired last Saturday. Any suggestions, or do I need to ship it to Uniden, and hope for the best?
