Headphone jack on the BCD436hp

No where in the manual does it state if this is a mono or stero 1/8" jack. Since it has headphones pictured above the jack I ***-u-me it is stereo, can anyone confirm this one way or the other so I know what type of cable I need to connect with My Ford Touch System.

Headphone jacks are stereo on all our scanners. EXT SP jacks are mono.

I'll add for others who happen onto this thread that it is important that you not plug a mono plug into the jack, as it would short out 1/2 of the headphone circuit. Also, the headphone can only drive headphones or low-level inputs (like the line-in on your car). It cannot drive an external speaker unless it is an amplified speaker.
